E-bidding for special car number plates in August

Limited-edition special registration number plates will be released in conjunction with this year’s Merdeka Day celebration.

The Transport Minister says JPJ will conduct via e-bidding its tender for the limited-edition number plates.

He says a local IT company has offered its services for the pilot project.

The minster adds the minimum bidding amount for the vehicle registration numbers of Malaysia 1 up to Malaysia 9999 will be announced next week.

Separately, Anthony Loke says the government will not ban e-hailing services, but they will be regulated to ensure fairness.
