Better protection for domestic workers

A new law is expected to be tabled in Parliament next year to protect the rights of domestic workers.
The HR Ministry says discussions on the proposed Domestic Workers Act have already started.
Its expected to cover things like working hours, holidays, salaries and insurance for maids.
Two detained over flag incident
Two senior citizens in Langkawi are the latest to get into trouble for flying the national flag upside down.

The 60-year-old man and 50-year-old woman were detained, after the Malaysian and Kedah flags were spotted upside down at their business premise in Kuah.
They claim it was an accident.
Another mass shooting in the US
At least five people have been killed after a gunman drove around shooting people at random in western Texas in the US.

Local police say the shooter was among the fatalities.
Authorities have yet to establish a motive for the incident.
HK protests show no signs of easing

Hong Kong police fired tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons...as tens of thousands of protestors marched in the city in yet another weekend of demonstrations.
Some 40 people are believed to have been arrested...as the demonstrators lit fires, threw petrol bombs and attacked the parliament building.
