The Education Ministry's Free Breakfast Programme for primary school students beginning next year will cost the govt up to 1.6 billion ringgit.
Its Minister says the operation of the programme will be divided into 2 mechanisms, with the first being a full menu including fruit with a 30-minute meal time.
The second mechanism will last 10 minutes and will follow the concept of “grab and go” where students will have snacks, bread, cereal or boiled eggs.
Dr Maszlee Malik adds that the programme is to benefit almost 2.7 million students and the breakfast menu will be based on guidelines from the Health Ministry.
Two experts, who testified in the inquest into the death of firefighter Muhd Adib will have their statements recorded by police as part of a criminal investigation.
Police to call up 2 expert witnesses in Adib's inquest
Bukit Aman police say the witnesses are a UK-based forensic pathologist and a UiTM mechanical engineering senior lecturer.
Earlier, the Shah Alam coroners' court ruled that Adib's death was the result of a criminal act by unknown persons.
Adib was seriously injured in a riot at the Seafield temple in Subang Jaya last year, and died after 21 days at IJN.
