Malaysia has the highest road fatality risk among ASEAN countries

We lost an estimated RM8.8 bil due to road accidents in 2017. 

In the same year, about 6,700 people were killed on the road, a sixth of them motorcyclists. 

To curb the worsening number of road fatalities, and to boost Malaysia's transportation network, the government has introduced the National Transport Policy. 

The policy covers five facets and has several intiatives, including introducing a 5-star rating system for commercial, new and used vehicles.

National food bank centre to be built

A national food bank centre will be built in the Klang Valley by next year. 

The hub for distribution and collection of food is expected to make food management easier, especially in terms of logistics. 

A RM25 mil allocation was announced for the Food Bank programme under Budget 2020.

Nurul Izzah wins big in suit against Ismail Sabri and ex-IGP

Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar has been awarded RM850,000 in damages, in her lawsuit over defamatory statements that linked her with self-style Sulu Princess Jacel Kiram last April.

The defendents were the then Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former inspector-general of police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
