Tian Chua can contest in future polls

The KL High Court has ruled that PKR’s Tian Chua was qualified to contest in GE14, more than a year after he was barred from defending his Batu federal seat.

It also ruled that Tian Chua could now stand as candidate in future elections.

The PKR vice-president was disqualified from contesting because of a 2,000 ringgit court fine for a charge of insulting a cop.

Court dismisses LTTE charges against P Gunasekaran

DAP Seremban Jaya assemblyman P. Gunasekaran has seen his 2 LTTE-related charges dismissed. 

He was accused of posessing items related to the terror group, but the prosecution applied to have those charges dropped. 

P. Gunasekaran is 1 of 12 people arrested last month, accused of supporting the LTTE terror group.

Jalan Genting Amber Court to be open tonight

The Jalan Genting - Amber Court stretch of road in Genting Highlands, which was affected by a landslide is expected to be open to all vehicles tonight.

It is currently only open to light vehicles and pedestrians.

The landslide yesterday cut off access to 2 hotels, with about 200 people stranded, but there were no injuries.
