Bus driver in Penang accident tested positive for drugs

Police have obtained a two-day remand order against a bus driver whose vehicle rammed several vehicles in Georgetown yesterday.
The driver tested positive for drugs and did not have a driving licence.
A 16-year-old food delivery rider was killed on the spot.
The bus, which was not carrying passengers at the time, also crashed into a car carrying a woman and her two kids, but they survived.
Police open murder investigation over tahfiz school student's death

The police have opened a murder investigation, after a 7-year-old student of a tahfiz school in Temerloh, Pahang died.
The student was brought to a clinic in a weak condition by a female warden, but he died while being treated.
He had bruises on his body, and 3 students, all aged 13, have been arrested over the tragedy.
The tahfiz centre, which has been operating since January, is not registered.

The Jalan Genting-Amber Court in Genting Highlands that was closed due to a landslide last Tuesday has been reopened.
Bentong police say clean-up work was completed yesterday, but advised motorists to avoid using the road at night to prevent untoward incidents.
The landslide cut off access to 2 hotels, with about 200 people stranded, but there were no injuries.
