Pakatan Harapan has confirmed that it is replacing Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim with Tun M as its choice of the 8th Prime Minister.
The interim Prime Minister says the decision will be conveyed to the Agong and he is confident he is able to garner the numbers in parliament to be the leader.
The Langkawi MP adds that this morning he met with the leaders of Pakatan Harapan, who have thrown their support behind their former chairman.
Dr Mahathir’s decision comes hours after Bersatu said it was backing its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin for the prime ministerial post.

Separately, Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says he will bring the voice of 'Perikatan Nasional' to the King adding that the new coalition’s intention is to save the country from the current political crisis.
Meanwhile, GPS, which has 18 MPs, is to announce its stand today, while Sabah's Warisan and UPKO have previously aligned with the old PH government yet to make clear on the new developments
