Malaysia's total COVID-19 deaths at 63

Malaysia’s total COVID-19 deaths is now at 63, after one more fatality was reported today.

The victim was a 71-year-old Malaysian man who had a history of attending a religious gathering in Indonesia.

Health Director General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says the ministry will not reveal the names of victims and instead use their case numbers.

Meanwhile Dr Noor Hisham says 170 new infection cases have been detected, raising our tally to 3,963.

92 patients are being treated in ICU, with 50 needing breathing assistance.

So far, 1,321 people have made full recoveries

Two KL residential buildings now under EMCO

The government has imposed a fourth Enhanced Movement Control Order, or EMCO, on the Selangor Mansion and the Malayan Mansion buildings in KL.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this is after 15 COVID-19 infection cases were detected in the buildings.

He adds that throughout the EMCO duration, residents are not allowed to leave the area, while non-residents and visitors cannot enter the premises.

Japan declares month-long state of emergency due to COVID-19 

Japan has declared a month-long state of emergency in several cities, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

They include Tokyo, Osaka, and Kanagawa.
