Areas around Jalan Masjid India, KL now under EMCO
Several areas around Jalan Masjid India, KL have been placed under an Enhanced Movement Control Order, or EMCO.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the EMCO there starts today, until April 28th.
They include Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Melaka, and Jalan Ampang.
Also, starting tomorrow police will NOT be focused on issuing compounds to those caught going against the Movement Control Order, or MCO.
Violators will instead be remanded and be brought to court.
Datuk Seri Ismail says this is because the number of people being arrested for disobeying the MCO is still too high.
1,300 arrests were made yesterday, with the total number of arrests now at nine thousand.
