Health DG calls for more people to donate blood

Malaysia has reported zero new fatalities, meaning the COVID-19 death toll remains at 114.
Also, another 60 patients were discharged from hospital today.
Only 31 new cases were reported, raising our total number of infections to 7,009
However, only 1,100 or so are active cases.
Meanwhile, the Health Director General has called for more people to donate blood.
Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says more donations are needed as the nation’s blood supply has fallen 40% during the MCO period.
He adds that more blood is needed now, as govt hospitals are reintroducing some medical procedures during the CMCO.
He adds that during Ramadhan, the operation hours at blood banks has been extended to 9pm.
Returning Malaysians to foot 50% of total bill if quarantined at hotel
Starting June 1st, Malaysian nationals returning from overseas will be charged a fee, if they undergo their mandatory quarantine at hotels.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says before returning to Malaysia, they must sign an agreement to bear 50% of the total bill.
Meanwhile foreigners including permanent residents must agree to pay the full amount.
Government allows commercial filming activities to resume after Hari Raya period
Production companies will be allowed to resume filming activities after Hari Raya, provided they adhere to SOPs.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this includes holding auditions online, submitting cast and crew travel records, and that only 20 people are allowed at each session.
He adds that makeup artists must wear face shields and sanitize their tools after each use.
