Jan 17, 2021

The warning came from Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, as Malaysia recorded a new record-high for daily infections – with 4,029 new cases reported yesterday.

Dr Hisham also repeated his reminder for Malaysians not to leave home unless absolutely necessary.

This, as 32 people were arrested for breaching the inter-district and inter-state travel ban on Friday.

They were among the 472 people nabbed by the cops for breaching SOP’s under the MCO.

Only students sitting for exams need to return to school

Only higher secondary school students sitting for exams need to return, when schools reopen next week.

The Education Ministry says only those from the 2020 batch sitting for their SPM, STPM and other major exams will attend physical schooling sessions.

The rest will follow home-based teaching and learning.

Flood update

The flood situation around the country is showing signs of improvement.

There are now some 5,800 evacuees in the affected states, including Pahang, Sarawak, Sabah and Johor.

This, as the Met Department issued a weather alert for parts of Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan…with heavy rain expected until tomorrow.
