The Federation of Malaysian Consumers Associations has welcomed the increase in fines for those violating COVID-19 SOPs under the Emergency ordinance.

FOMCA hopes that the high compound will ensure further SOP compliance, to boost efforts against the spread of the coronavirus.

Starting March 11th, individuals will be fined a maximum of RM10,000, while companies can face compounds of up to RM50,000 for ignoring health guidelines.
