Galatasaray have pulled off a surprise 1-0 win over Liverpool in their Champions League clash this morning.

Victor Osimhen netted the winner for the Turkish club from the penalty spot in the first half.

To make matters worse for the Merseyside club, they also had goalkeeper Allison and striker Hugo Ekitike taken off with injuries.

This is the Reds second straight defeat in all competitions after their EPL loss to Crystal Palace over the weekend.

In other selected results…Chelsea edged past Benfica by a goal to nil.

Tottenham were held to a 2-2 draw by Bodo Glimt.

Bayern Munich hammered Pafos 5-1.

Atletico Madrid also recorded a 5-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Inter Milan overcame Slavia Prague 3-0.

While Real Madrid enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 win over Kairat.

Back home JDT have picked up their first point of this year’s Asian Champions League Elite campaign, after a goalless draw with Machida Zelvia of Japan.

In other developments…the Milan city council has approved the sale of the San Siro, which could see the iconic stadium being demolished.

The ground is home to both AC and Inter Milan who plan to build a new 71 thousand capacity facility to replace their stadium, which has not been refurbished since 1990.

-

And, world number one Carlos Alcaraz has defeated Taylor Fritz to win the Japan tennis Open and claim his eighth ATP title of the year.
