KBS: No SEA Games Gold Medal Target

Feb 05, 2025

kbs: no sea games gold medal target

We are not setting a gold medal target for our athletes competing in this year's SEA Games in Thailand.

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh says instead, it will be based on the total number of medals won, since a gold medal target could put them under too much pressure to perform.

The overall medals target is based on advice from Japanese sports experts, and it has been implemented in countries including Japan, South Korea, Iran, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Liverpool can breathe a sigh of relief after learning that Trent Alexander-Arnold is NOT facing a lengthy injury layoff.

The right-back suffered a thigh injury in their recent 2-0 win over Bournemouth, and scans have revealed that he will be sidelined for just days, instead of weeks.

This definitely rules him out for Friday morning's EFL Cup 2nd leg semi against Tottenham, and he could also sit out this weekend's FA Cup match against Plymouth Argyle.

However, Alexander-Arnold could return in time for their mid-week EPL clash against Everton.

The EPL says it expects to introduce semi-automated offside technology before the end of the season.

It says technology will help reduce the time for VAR reviews, and reduce the possibility of wrong VAR decisions.
