Liverpool Extend Their EPL Lead

Liverpool have opened up a five-point lead at the top of the EPL standings…after a 2-0 win over Aston Villa earlier this morning.

This is the Red’s ninth league win of the season…and their 15^th overall since the arrival of new manager Arne Slot.

It came as second-placed Man City fell to a surprise 2-1 defeat away to Brighton.

Pep Guardiola’s side have now lost four games in a row in all competitions…for the first time since 2006.

Meanwhile, Wolves have picked up their first league win of the season…beating Southampton 2-0.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid ended a run of two straight losses with a 4-0 La Liga victory over Osasuna, thanks to a Vinicius Jr hattrick.

In tennis… Coco Gauff has won the WTA Finals after coming from a set down to beat Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen.

The 20-year-old is now the youngest winner at the tournament since 2004.
