Win Not Enough For Harimau Malaya

Jun 12, 2024

win not enough for harimau malaya

Harimau Malaya have suffered an early exit from World Cup qualifying, despite their 3-1 win over Chinese Taipei in KL last night.

The victory was not enough to prevent the national team finishing third in their group…with only the top two teams advancing to the next round.

However, their third place was sufficient to book a spot in the third round of the Asian Cup qualifiers, which begin next March.

Elsewhere, Erik Ten Hag will remain as Man United manager, after a two-week long end-of-season review.

UK sources say the United hierarchy were satisfied with the club’s FA Cup triumph…even though they ended up eighth in the EPL – their worst-ever finish in the Premier League era.

-

England manager Gareth Southgate has hinted that he could leave if they don’t win Euro 2024.

Southgate has been in charge of the Three Lions since 2016…and says time is running out for him to win a trophy.

-

Speaking of the Euros, UEFA will hold a special segment during this weekend’s opening ceremony, to commemorate Germany’s late World Cup winning coach and captain Franz Beckenbauer, who passed away in January.

-

And, human rights groups are urging the International Olympic Committee to help overturn a French ban on the country’s female athletes wearing the hijab at the Paris Games, saying the ban goes against the Olympic charter.
