Malaysia coach Kim Pang Gon has apologised, after his team were beaten 4-nil by Jordan in their opening Asian Cup game.  

He says his players tried their best, but were unable to match their opponents.  

 

Meanwhile, Harimau Malaya captain Matthew Davies has vowed to make amends.

The team will analyse their mistakes and make improvements have vowed to bounce back in the next game.

They will take on Bahrain on Saturday before wrapping up their Group E campaign against South Korea next week.

Lionel Messi has been named player of the year at the Fifa Best Awards, ahead of Man City's Erling Haaland and PSG's Kylian Mpappe.  

Meanwhile, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola won the men's coach prize, after guiding his team to last season's treble.

Everton could face further punishment for breaking Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules. 

They were charged alongside Nottingham Forest for breaching the rules for the latest assessment period, and could face a fine or points deduction. 

Everton have already been docked 10 points this season, for a similar offence during an earlier assessment.
