Our world champion mixed doubles pair Chen Tan Jie-Toh Ee Wei are through to the semifinals of the China badminton Masters.  

They advanced after beating the 5th seeds from Hong Kong in three sets.  

However, Goh Sze Fei - Nur Izzuddin were beaten in the men's doubles quarterfinals.

UEFA could take action against Liverpool, over the behavior of their supporters in yesterday morning's 3-2 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.  

This, after Atletico boss Diego Simeoni confronted a Reds fan who was allegedly provoking his coaching staff.  

Under UEFA rules, Liverpool could be held responsible for any offensive behavior among their supporters, and possible punishments could include a partial stadium closure.

Meanwhile other reports claim that UEFA could also take action against Atletico, after one of its coaching staff appeared to show him spitting at Liverpool supporters.  

Atletico have also opened an internal investigation into the incident.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola believes it's only a matter of time before Erling Haaland matches Cristiano Ronaldo's record of 140 Champions League goals.  

This, after the 25-year-old scored in City's 2-0 Champions League win over Napoli, setting the record for the fastest player to reach 50 goals – doing it in just 49 appearances.

And last season's Malaysia Cup runners up Sri Pahang have been issued a one-year suspension by the Malaysia Football League, following its withdrawal from the M-League.  

Meanwhile Kedah Darul Aman FC and Perak FC have each been handed two-year suspensions for failing to get the necessary license for this season.
