Azizulhasni Awang To Quit The National Team

Datuk Azizulhasni Awang will be continuing his track cycling career, but as a professional.

The 37-year-old says following discussions with the Youth and Sports Minister and the National Sports Council…he’s decided that its in the best interest of everyone, for him to part ways with the national team.

The Pocket Rocketman says this is so that all support and focus can be given to the next generation of national cyclists.

Azizul explains that he now plans to carry on competing at least for the next two years…and is eyeing this year’s World Track Cycling Championship.

Aston Villa thrashed Newcastle 4-1

While the Crystal Palace-Bournemouth game ended goalless.

Elsewhere, leaders Barcelona needed a penalty deep into stoppage time to come away 4-3 winners over Celta Vigo to extend their advantage at the top of La Liga to seven points.

Over in Germany, Harry Kane scored his 24th league goal of the season, as Bayern Munich beat Heidenheim 4-0 to close in on the Bundesliga title.
