The Malaysian men’s team have won the Badminton Asia Team Championship.
They overcame a strong challenge from Indonesia to win 3-nothing in yesterday’s final.
Ng Tze Yong delivered the winning point for Malaysia…following earlier wins by Lee Zii Jia and Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik.
This is Malaysia’s first BATC title, and our first team title since the 1992 Thomas Cup.

Meanwhile, Zii Jia has called on his fellow Malaysian shuttlers not to get carried away by their BATC victory.
He says he’s happy with the win, but the team’s focus should now be on the Thomas Cup finals in May.

Man United strengthened their grip on fourth place in the EPL with an impressive 4-2 win over Leeds at Elland Road.
The home side fought back from two goals down to draw level…only for Fred and then Anthony Elanga to secure the win for United in the second half.
The win leaves the Red Devils four points ahead of fifth-placed West Ham.

Meanwhile, Wolves maintained their push for a European place with a 2-1 win over Leicester…for their fifth victory in six league matches.

Man United are reportedly open to releasing Cristiano Ronaldo, if he wants to leave this summer.
Insiders say United bosses have now accepted that bringing the Portuguese star back was a mistake, with the forward becoming an unwelcome distraction to the club’s push for a top four finish.
It follows multiple reports that Ronaldo is not happy at Old Trafford, and will quit if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League.

Lewis Hamilton has made it clear he has no hard feelings towards Max Verstappen, despite the Red Bull driver’s controversial title win last season.
Hamilton says Verstappen merely seized the opportunity that came his way following the safety car fiasco at the season-finale in Abu Dhabi…which is something any driver would have done.
