ilayah Closes In On Sukma Lead!

The Federal Territories are closing in on Sarawak's stranglehold of the top of the 2024 SUKMA Games standings.  

This, as the Federal Territories narrowed their gap with the Hornbill state to just 3 gold medals.  

Currently, Sarawak are on 69 gold medals, while the Federal Territories have 66.  

Selangor are in third place with 48 gold.

Still in SUKMA, Terengganu weightlifter Muhammad Izzan Ismadi has set a new national record of 173 in the 96kg clean and jerk. 

Meanwhile , Johor track athlete Umar Osman won the men's 800m event to set a new SUKMA record of 1 minute, 51.19 seconds,

Malaysian men's doubles pair Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin defeated their Indonesian opponents to booked a spot in the Japan badminton Open semifinals.  

Three other reps crashed out, namely Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei, Tan Kiang Meng/Tai Pei Jing and Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun.
