Antoine Griezmann's move to Barcelona may not happen

Jul 25, 2019

The Spanish League could block Antoine Griezmann's move from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona, due to a dispute over the fee.

Barca activated Griezmann's 120 million-euro release clause earlier this month, but Atletico are complaining that the Catalan side had actually reached a deal with the player much earlier, when the clause was set at 200 million.

Atletico are now seeking the higher amount, and have asked La Liga to intervene.

Marco Asensio faces lengthy spell on sidelines

Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio is facing several months on the sidelines, after suffering a knee ligament injury in yesterday's pre-season friendly with Arsenal.

Asensio's long-term absense could now affect Real's plans to send fellow attacking midfielder Dani Ceballos to Arsenal on loan.

Ceballos is already in London for a medical ahead of joining the Gunners.
