Arsenal withdraw new contract with Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey was reportedly offered a four-year contract extension by Arsenal, before the club withdrew the deal at the last minute.

It is unclear why the Gunners had a change of heart.

The 27-year-old, whose contract expires in June, will be a free agent in the summer, unless he is sold in January. 

Arsenal's decision has caught many by surprise, especially since Ramsey is one of the club's longest-serving players, having joined a decade ago.
