Chong Wei moves up BWF rankings

Jun 22, 2017

Datuk Lee Chong Wei has gone up a spot to number 2 in the latest BWF rankings.

He is now only behind South Korea's Son Wan Ho, after overtaking Denmark's Victor Axelsen.

This, as men's doubles pair, Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong remain at number 4.

Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing are also unchanged at 10th place in the mixed doubles rankings.

Meanwhile, Tan and Lai have crashed out of the Australian Badminton Open, after losing to opponents from Japan.

However, fellow mixed doubles reps Chan Peng Soon and Cheah Yee See advanced to the quarterfinals, along with men's doubles shuttlers Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi.

Men's singles rep Zulfadli Zulkiffli crashed out, after losing to a South Korean opponent in the 2nd round.
