Holders Manchester City have progressed to the semifinals of the EFL Cup thanks to a 3-1 penalty shootout win over Leicester.

This, after both sides played to a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the King Power Stadium.

Joining City in the last 4 are League One side Burton Albion, who shocked shocked Middlesbrough 1-nil.

OGS reportedly under consideration for MU job.

Ex-Man United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be under consideration to take over as caretaker manager at the club following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

Former United assistant boss Mike Phelan is also rumoured to be returning to take up the number 2 post again.

Mourinho was given the boot yesterday, after two and a half years in charge because of the team's recent lacklustre performances.

The Red Devils are hoping to have an interim boss in place before Sunday's premiership game against Cardiff.
