Fernando Alonso reprimanded for holding up drivers
Oct 09, 2017
McLaren's Fernando Alonso has been reprimanded for holding up the leading drivers at the Japanese F1 Grand Prix.
He has also been given 2 penalty points on his superlicence over the incident, which involved Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
This is Alonso's first reprimand of the season, as well as the only penalty points he's gotten this year.
3 driving reprimands will result in a 10 place grid penalty, while 12 penalty points in a year would lead to a race ban.
