Gareth Bale scored a superb goal on his return to the pitch, after almost 3 months out with an ankle injury, to help Real Madrid beat Espanyol 2-0.
The win means the Spanish La Liga leaders have retained their top spot with a 3-point lead.
Meanwhile, 2nd placed Sevilla defeated Eibar 2-0, and Sporting Gijon lost to Atletico Madrid 4-1
