Kante wins PFA Player of the Year award

Apr 24, 2017

Chelsea's N'Golo Kante has won the PFA Player of the Year award.

The midfielder beat Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexis Sanchez, in the vote by his fellow players.

This, as Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli won the PFA Young Player of the Year prize for the 2nd season in a row.

The 21-year-old has again been in top form for the north London club this season as they challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title.

He won the vote of his peers ahead of Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Leroy Sane.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United star David Beckham has received the PFA's Merit award for his achievements for club and country.

He won 115 senior caps for England and captained the team at the World Cup twice, reaching the quarter-finals both times.

Last year's recipient of the Merit was Beckham's team mate, Ryan Giggs.
