Man City strengthen their position at the EPL summit

Man City have strengthened their position at the top of the EPL standings with a 1-0 win over Sheffield United.

It is also a club-record 12th consecutive victory in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The win leaves City three points ahead of second placed Man United, with a game in hand.

United, meanwhile, missed the chance to make up ground on the leaders after they could only manage a goalless draw with Arsenal.

In other Premiership results,
Newcastle beat Everton 2-0.
Crystal Palace edged past Wolves 1-0.
West Brom and Fulham played to a 2-2 draw.
While Aston Villa overcame Southampton 1-0.

European roundup

Over in Spain, Real Madrid had a man sent off as they fell to an upset 2-1 defeat to Levante.

Real remain seven points behind La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid…who have two matches in hand.

In Italy…AC Milan defeated Bologna 2-1 to leave them top of the Serie A table…two points ahead of Inter Milan.

Ramos bound for the EPL?

Veteran Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is reportedly eyeing a move to the Premiership, with some sources saying Man United could be a possible destination.

The 34-year-old will be available on a free transfer in July, having failed to agree a new deal with the Spanish giants.

Malaysia’s challenge at the BWF World Tour finals is over.

This, after the country’s two remaining reps – Chow Mei Kuan-Lee Meng Yean and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai both lost their respective semi-final matches yesterday.
