Messi is the highest-paid sportsman of 2019

Jul 11, 2019

Lionel Messi has topped Forbes' list of the highest-paid sports personalities for 2019, with earnings of 127 million dollars.

The Barcelona and Argentine star was also 4th overall, in the list of the best-paid celebrities.

Messi's long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo was the second-highest sportsman on the list, ahead of Neymar, boxer Canelo Alvarez and tennis legend Roger Federer

Messi was also named best international footballer in the 2019 ESPY Awards in the US.

He beat out a shortlist that also had Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Virgil van Dijk.

The Women's National Soccer Team won Team of the Year, after they won the Women's World Cup.

The head of the Sepang International Circuit says SIC will do everything it can to help Msian rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah resume his career, either in MotoGP or Moto2.

This is after Hafizh was dropped by the Red Bull KTM Tech3 MotoGP team for next year, replacing him with South African Brad Binder.
