Naomi Osaka wins the US tennis Open

Naomi Osaka has won the US tennis Open for a second time.

The 2018 winner took this year's title as well, battling from a set down to beat Victoria Azarenka in three sets in this morning's final.

The 22-year-old from Japan now takes her Grand Slam tally to three, having also won the 2019 Australian Open.

Azarenka, meanwhile, was competing in her first major final since 2013.

Reds start off with a win

Liverpool opened their Premiership title defence with a dramatic 4-3 victory over newly-promoted Leeds United.

Mo Salah netted a hattrick for the Reds, including the winner from the penalty spot in the 88th minute.

Elswhere, new signing Willian asissted in all three goals as Arsenal defeated Fulham 3-0.

In other results, Crystal Palace edged past Southampton 1-0
While Newcastle beat West Ham 2-0

Lewis on pole again

Lewis Hamilton took his seventh pole position in nine races by qualifying quickest for the Tuscan F1 GP. 

He came in ahead of Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas and Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
