National shuttler could still make the flight to Brazil for Olympics

May 31, 2016

National shuttler, Tee Jing Yi who suffered an ankle injury recently, claims her injury is not serious and could still make the flight to Brazil for this year's Olympics.

Jing Yi says her right ankle injury is healing fast and she could even be ready to participate in next month's Australia Open in Sydney.

She had qualified for the Rio Olympics on merit but limped out with an ankle injury in the recent First National Circuit final in Bukit Kiara last weekend.

If Jing Yi fails to recover in time, she could reportedly be replaced by youngster, Goh Jin Wei in Rio.
