Sam Allardyce leaves his role as England football manager

Sam Allardyce has left his role as England football manager, after allegedly admitting to telling businessmen how to get around rules on player transfer payments.

The FA had considered sacking him, but released an official statement which said that the two had parted ways "by mutual consent".

However, Allardyce will still face an FA inquiry over the matter.

He was in charge of just 1 match since being appointed in July.
