Saudi crown prince denies Man Utd takeover

Feb 18, 2019

Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman has denied reports that he intends to buy over Man United.

Earlier reports suggested he was about to make a 3.8 billion-pound offer, to take control of the Premier League giants.

However, Saudi's Media Minister has taken to Twitter to confirm that those reports are completely false.

He explains that United officials did meet with the crown prince, but it was over a sponsorship opportunity, and not a deal to purchase the club.

Meanwhile, United's American owners, who have been in charge of the club since 2005, have also stressed that they have no plans to sell the club.

Zola insists Sarri is in a similar situation as one Pep Guardiola faced, in his first season in charge of Man City, during which he failed to win a trophy.

However, Zola has assured that he and Sarri are working towards turning things around, as the Blues seek to rediscover their form that saw them go 12 games unbeaten at the start of the season.
