VAR coming to the Champions League earlier than expected

Dec 03, 2018

Hello VAR

The Video Assistant Referee could be used in the Champions League as early as the last-16 stage.

The tech was only supposed to be introduced next season, but Skysports reports it has been brought forward after a series of high-profile refereeing mistakes.

VAR is already being used in the Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A, and will be used in the Premier League next season.

And the Winner of the Ballon d'Or is...

The winner of the prestigious Ballon d'Or award will be announced tomorrow morning, and Croatia's Luka Modric is still the favourite for the crown.

The Real Madrid star is widely expected to end Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's dominance of the award - with the duo having taken turns to win it for the past 10 years.

Modric also pipped Ronaldo to win the Fifa Best Player award earlier this year.

England pressured to win their Euro 2020 qualifiers

England manager Gareth Southgate expects his boys to win the Euro 2020 qualifiers after a fantastic draw that put them in the same group as the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Kosovo.

England also have possible fixtures at their homeground of Wembley, including the final.
