Nov 24, 2020

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insists he will field a strong team in tomorrow's Champions League clash against Rennes, despite their upcoming derby against Tottenham.

He says getting a good result against the French club, to seal their spot in the knockout round:

"If we get the wrong result, we have a difficult couple of games ahead of us as we're going to Sevilla next. We have to respect this game. We have until Sunday for Tottenham".

Meanwhile, Lampard insists that Olivier Giroud still has a role to play this season, despite his current lack of playing time.

Giroud is reportedly looking to leave, after only making one start for the Blues this season.

Ole Tips Martial To End Goal Drought

Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident that Anthony Martial will soon rediscover his form, after only managing 2 goals in 15 matches so far this season.

Solskjaer says Martial's slump is due to a lack of a proper pre-season programme, on top of his three-game suspension in their 6-1 defeat to Tottenham..

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba has returned to training, and could play a role in tomorrow morning's Champions League clash against Basaksehir.

The Frenchman missed United's 1-nil win over West Brom at the weekend due to a knock.

Luke Shaw and Phil Jones will remain on the sideline, while Jesse Lingard is still self-isolating after being in contact with a positive COVID-19 case.

FA Cup Will Allow Concussion Subs

The English FA will fast-track trials of concussion substitutes in this season's FA Cup.

Under the scheme, teams will be granted an extra permanent substitute when a player is at risk of concussion.

The trial was supposed to have taken place last season, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
