World Cup qualifying results

Germany have crushed Azerbaijan 4-1 in their World Cup qualifier. 

Andre Schurle scored twice, and Thomas Mueller and Mario Gomez had one goal apiece, to give Germany a 5 point lead at the top of Group C. 

Northern Ireland are in second place, after beating Norway 2-nil.

Group F leaders England defeated Lithuania 2-nil, thanks to goals in either half from Jermaine Defoe and Jamie Vardy. 

England are 4 points ahead of Slovakia, who beat Malta 3-1.In other World Cup qualifying matches, 

Scotland pipped Slovenia 1-nil 
Czech Republic hammered San Marino 6-nil 
And Poland pipped Montenegro 2-1
