Olympic Heartbreak for Chen Tang Jie - Toh Ee Wei

Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei’s Olympics debut has ended in the quarterfinal stage.

The mixed-doubles pair went down to South Korea’s Kim Won Ho and Jeong Na Eun in the last eight…despite putting up a strong fight and contending with a first-set injury to Ee Wei.

The Malaysian shuttlers… who won all three group games en-route to the quarters…say they’re grateful for the experience in Paris, but are still coming to terms with the painful defeat.

Meanwhile compatriot Lee Zii Jia has made the last-16 of the men’s singles event, after beating his Spanish opponent in straight sets.

Elsewhere in Paris, Malaysian recurve archer Ariana Nur Diana Mohamad Zairi narrowly lost to her Italian opponent in a shoot-off in the first round of the women’s individual competition.
