Aug 01, 2024

olympic heartbreak for chen tang jie - toh ee wei

Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei’s Olympics debut has ended in the quarterfinal stage.

The Malaysian shuttlers… who won all three group games en-route to the quarters…say they’re grateful for the experience in Paris, but are still coming to terms with the painful defeat.

Meanwhile compatriot Lee Zii Jia has made the last-16 of the men’s singles event, after beating his Spanish opponent in straight sets.

Elsewhere in Paris, Malaysian recurve archer Ariana Nur Diana Mohamad Zairi narrowly lost to her Italian opponent in a shoot-off in the first round of the women’s individual competition.

While Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Rafa Nadal have crashed out in the quarterfinals of the men’s tennis doubles event.
