Malaysian athletes who are competing in overseas sporting events are NOT allowed to bring their spouses with them.

The Immigration Dept says they are only allowed to bring their coaches and professional crew.

This, after Malaysian Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah reportedly expressed his frustration at not being able to fly his wife to join him in Europe.

Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is an injury doubt for England's Euro 2020 campaign, just over a week before it's due to start.

He suffered a thigh problem in this morning's friendly win over Austria, and medics will assess the defender's situation over the next few days, to see if he can play a part in the competition.

10k Tokyo Games volunteers pulled out since last year

10,000 volunteers for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics have stepped down, ever since it was postponed last year.

According to the organisers, it was largely due to COVID-19 concerns in Japan.

They assured that this will not impact the Games, as they comprise just over 10% of the number of volunteers needed.

Since the event has been scaled back, fewer volunteers will be required.
