Liverpool beat Villa to remain in the EPL title race
May 11, 2022
Liverpool kept their Premiership title hopes alive with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Aston Villa this morning.
Douglas Luiz opened the scoring for the home side after just three minutes, before Joel Matip drew the Reds level shortly after.
Sadio Mane then sealed the victory, heading in the winner from a Luis Diaz cross in the 65th minute.
Liverpool – who have two more games to go this season - are now level on points with leaders Man City…although City have a game in hand.
Man City have reached a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
Club officials confirmed they’ve reached an agreement in principle with Dortmund, with the move now subject to City finalising terms with the player.
The entire move – including Haaland’s release clause and agents fees – is expected to cost the EPL side some 85 million pounds.

Antonio Rudiger has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid, when his Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season.
Sources say the move is already completed, although an official announcement is not expected until the season is over.
Rudiger will reportedly earn over 340 thouasand pounds per week with the Spanish champions.
The national diving squad will have the chance to hit their eight-gold medal target today.
They’ve already picked up six golds – the latest two of which were delivered yesterday.
Later this afternoon, Gabriel Gilbert Daim and Mohd Syafiq Puteh will be in action in the men’s 3m springboard event, while Dato Pandelela Rinong and Nur Dhabitah Sabri will be competing in the women’s 10m platform synchro.
