Pep Close To Renewing City Contract

Pep Guardiola is edging closer to extending his Man City contract, which expires at the end of the season.

It is understood the manager will stay, even if City loses its legal battle against alleged breaches of financial fair play regulations.

Earlier, it was reported that Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim and Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso were among the contenders for the City job…in the event that Guardiola opts to leave.

Officials say there’s been an over 80 percent drop in Video Assistant Referee errors in the Premier League this season.

The improvement comes after numerous mistakes over the last campaign triggered calls from some quarters to scrap VAR.
