rouxin wins historic bronze

Swimmer Tan Rouxin has won the bronze medal in the 400m individual medley at the Short Course World Cup.

She is the first Malaysian in 35 years to win a medal at the competition.

Jeffrey Ong was the last Malaysian to win a World Cup medal, taking a silver all the way back in 1989.

Over in the EPL…Arsenal have suffered their first league defeat of the season, going down 2-0 away to Bournemouth.

The Gunners also had to play most of the game with 10 men…after William Saliba was sent off inside the opening half-hour.

In other results…Tottenham thrashed West Ham 4-1

Aston Villa overcame Fulham 3-1

Man United had a 2-1 win over Brentford

While Brighton edged past Newcastle 1-0.

Elsewhere, Luka Modric became the oldest player to feature for Real Madrid…with the 39-year-old playing in their 2-1 La Liga win over Celta Vigo.

And, championship leader Max Verstappen has won the Sprint Race at the US F1 GP…ahead of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris.

Meanwhile, Norris has taken pole position for tomorrow morning’s main race…with Verstappen and Sainz starting from second and third on the grid.
