Salah wins Footballer of the Year award
Apr 30, 2022
Liverpool striker Mo Salah has been named the Football Writers Association’s Footballer of the Year.
The Egyptian has been in brilliant form for the Reds this campaign, scoring 30 goals in all competitions as they seek the quadruple this season.
Salah previously won the award in 2018.
Antonio Conte has rubbished recent reports linking him with the PSG manager’s post.
The Tottenham boss says as much as he is flattered by the link, the news is simply not true.
It comes after French media said Conte could take over from Mauricio Pochettino…who’s reportedly on the verge of being sacked by PSG over their failure in this season’s Champions League.
Man United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has been officially appointed as head coach of the Austrian national team.
He will begin his new role at the end of the EPL season…and will combine it with his responsibilities as a consultant for United.
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has reportedly agreed to a new contract that will keep him with the club until the summer of 2023.
The 36-year-old has been a key figure for Real despite his age…and has netted three goals and nine assists in all competitions this season.
