Datuk Lee Chong Wei is thru to the quarterfinals, but fellow men's singles shuttler Chong Wei Feng crashed out.
In the men's doubles category, 2nd seeded Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong crashed out.
Meanwhile, women's doubles pair Vivian Hoo/Woon Khe Wei and mixed doubles pair Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing reached the last 8 of their respective events.
