Big Sam: Brexit is hampering transfers

West Brom boss Sam Allardyce is not a fan of the new rules that in place for the January transfer window, becuse of Brexit. 

He says the new rules have forrced the EPL strugglers to cancel three potential signings as they are no longer elegible for a UK work permit.  

Under post-Brexit transfer rules, players from EU countries will only be given a work permit based on a strict points system, while foreign players under the age of 18 cannot be signed at all.

Klopp: This is a ttitle race for the neutrals

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he expects this season's EPL title race to go to down the wire, and he believes this is the perfect situation for neutral fans. 

The the Reds face stiff competition for the trophy this year - they are currently level on points with Man United, while Leicester, Tottenham, Man City and Everton are also not far behind.

Saints stopper tests positive for COVID-19

Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy will miss tomorrow morning's EPL game against Liverpool, after testing positive for COVID-19. 

McCarthy was the only Saints player or staff member to prove positive, after the latest round of tests.

Meanwhile, Gini Wijnaldum could feature for Liverpool, after he was rested in their previous match.

However, Naby Keita is still sidelined, alongside defenders Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.
