Claudio Ranieri sacked as Fulham manager

Claudio Ranieri is the latest Premiership manager to get the sack this season.

He was dismissed by league strugglers Fulham after just 106 days in charge - during which he won only three of his 17 matches.

The Cottagers are currently second from bottom in the league table...10 points away from safety, with 10 mathces to go this season.

Sergio Ramos handed two-game European ban

Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos has been handed a 2-match European ban by UEFA, after being found guilty of receiving a yellow card on purpose. 

The defender deliberately got himself booked in the Champions League last-16 first leg tie against Ajax, so that he would be suspended for the return leg...but free to play in the quarterfinals.

Jordi Alba signs new long-term contract at Barcelona

In Spain...Jordi Alba has signed a new contract to remain with Barcelona until 2024.

His new deal also includes a 500m euro release clause.

Alba has played over 280 matches for Barca, winning 14 trophies, including four La Liga titles.
