F1 teams in bid to slow down Mercedes

Jun 28, 2019

Formula 1 could abandon this year's tyres, in a bid to slow down Mercedes.

According to Motorsport.com, F1 teams are set to meet with the FIA and tyre-supplier Pirelli, to bring back the 2018-specification tyres after the summer break.

Several teams have complained that this year's tyres have hurt their campaigns, and played a part in Mercedes' dominance.

Barcelona have yet to decide on whether to re-sign Neymar from PSG.

Barca's vice-president says the club is aware that the Brazilian wants to rejoin the Catalan giants, but they will only act if the player makes the first step.

Neymar quit Barca for PSG two years ago, but is unsettled at the French club.

A former Crystal Palace coach who worked with Aaron Wan-Bissaka says the defender may struggle to adapt at Manchester United.

He says from his experience, Wan-Bissaka is a very private and introverted personality.

This may pose problems in a Red Devils dressing room which is full of strong personalities and fierce charactes.

The coach is also worried that Wan-Bissaka will also have to contend with the scrutiny of being a United player.

Wan-Bissaka is joining United from Palace in a 50 million pound deal, and may be unveiled later today.
