Per Mertesacker is reportedly set to become Arsenal's new captain, following the retirement of Mikel Arteta.
According to the UK Sun, Laurent Koscielny and goalkeeper Petr Cech were also being considered, but boss Arsene Wenger will offer the job to Mertesacker.
Seperately, Rob Holding's transfer from Bolton to Arsenal will reportedly be completed in the next few days.
