Novak Djokovic has reached the 3rd round of  the Canadian tennis Open, with a comfortable win over a local oppponent.

Meanwhile, Juan Martin del Potro was forced to pull out ahead of his scheduled second round match against Robin Haase, due to a wrist injury.

In the women's draw, the unseeded Alize Cornet provided the biggest upset so far, beating Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber in round 2.
