Suarez to Atletico is on!

Sep 23, 2020

Unwanted at Barca, Suarez is finally set to join a new club

Barcelona have agreed to allow striker Luis Suarez join La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.

Initially, Barca agreed to tear up Suarez's contract, to allow him to leave the Catalan club for free, but did a u-turn after discovering that he was close to joining a major rival.

Barca did ANOTHER u-turn after meeting with Suarez's reps, and have allowed the move to take place with Atletico paying them just 4 million pounds.

Meanwhile Police in Italy are investigating claims that Barcelona's Luis Suarez cheated on his Italian citizenship exam.

According to reports the Uruguayan striker had advanced notice of the exam questions, and that his final grade has already been agreed.

Suarez took the test last week, to help fast-track a move to Juventus but a deal has since collapsed.

Latest reports say that stadiums in England may only be allowed to admit fans in March.

They were originally scheduled to return next month, but British PM Boris Johnson says that plan has now been scrapped, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.

"I recognise the implications for our sports clubs which are the life and soul of our communities, and my right honourable friends the Chancellor and the Culture Secretary are working urgently on what we can do now to support them."

This, as the UK reported nearly 5 thousand new covid-19 cases overnight.. the highest daily spike in infections since early May.

Manchester United bounced back from last weekend's defeat to Crystal Palace, by beating Championship side Luton 3-nil in the 3rd round of the EFL Cup.

Juan Mata opened the scoring with a first-half penalty, before substitutes Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood sealed the win late in the game.

United will face either Brighton or Championship club Preston in the 4th round.

Meanwhile, West Ham demolished Hull 5-1

The Hammers sealed the win despite having boss David Moyes and two players sent home just before the match, after testing positive for COVID-19.

The coronavirus also forced the cancelation of Tottenham's clash against Leyton Orient, after several Leyton players tested positive.
